The Council of Legal Education (CLE), led by its director-general and life bencher, Prof. Isa Hayetu Chiroma, SAN, visited Clifford University’s faculty of law in Abia State, on October 10, 2025 for a crucial accreditation exercise.
The visit marks a significant milestone in the university’s quest to establish a reputable faculty of law that is distinguished by excellence and integrity.
The CLE team included its members such as Ikechukwu Uwanna, SAN; the attorney general of Abia State, Mrs. Aderonke O. Osho; secretary to the Council of Legal Education and director of administration, Dr. Silas Akinwumi; the law librarian and director, Nigerian Law School; and Dalmat Mamiso Junior, who is the secretary of the panel, among others. The delegation engaged with key stakeholders, including the university’s management, faculty members, and administrative staff.
During the exercise, the team inspected key facilities of the faculty, including the state-of-the-art library, lecture halls, seminar rooms, auditorium, and moot court.
Speaking on behalf of the university management, the vice chancellor, Prof. Chimezie Omeonu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the CLE team for their visit and professional assessment. He commended the efforts of the dean, Prof. Michael Eteete Adam: the head of departments, Dr. Maureen Bari-befe Koate, Dr. Charles Okpara and other dedicated faculty members. The VC reaffirmed the university’s commitment to building a world-class faculty of law that nurtures excellence, discipline and the highest ethical standards in the legal profession.
