The United States continues to support initiatives that empower journalists with skills on election reporting, as they play an indispensable role in ensuring a free and fair democratic electoral process.
The United States consul general in Nigeria, Will Stevens, on Monday at the American Corner in Ibadan, opened the first in the series of regional election reporting workshops for 150 political reporters, editors, photojournalists and video-journalists.
According to a post on its Facebook page on Tuesday, the United States Mission in Nigeria assured that “through our partnership with West Africa Broadcast and Media Academy (WABMA), additional workshops will take place in Lagos, Enugu and Port Harcourt in the coming weeks.”
