Benue State University and its neighbouring Nasarawa State University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Embassy of the United States in Abuja in order to bring learning and educational opportunities closer to students in both universities.
The US Mission in Nigeria made this known at the weekend in a post on its official Facebook account.
The post read: “Our network of American Spaces in Nigeria is about to further expand! Public Affairs Section staff welcomed this week the Vice Chancellor of Benue State University (BSU-Makurdi), Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, and the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University (NSU-Keffi), Professor Suleiman B. Mohammed, to sign Memorandums of Understanding with U.S. Embassy Counselor for Public Affairs Adnan Siddiqi.
“The MOU’s pave the way for the establishment and opening of Embassy-supported “Windows on America” at the main libraries of NSU and BSU. Like American Spaces around the country, the two new Windows in Makurdi and Keffi will serve as sites where students, faculty and the public at large can, free of charge, learn about the United States, attend lectures, and access our online eLibraryUSA system.
“We look forward to partnership with all state universities, and hope for a swift resolution to the current strike.”
