The executive secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has enjoined staff of the commission to take delight in their job.
The NCPC boss gave this advice during the morning devotion at the NCPC corporate headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
Taking his exhortation from Psalm 1:1-5, he urged staff not to walk, stand or sit in the counsel of the wicked but find delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night.
“If you allow the organization to pass through you, you will gain a lot and be able to learn in your field and work with people of right counsel,” he said.
The NCPC boss charged the commission’s staff to be focused at all times, as it is the only way they would continue to add value to the system. In his words, “God has not given us the spirit of fear and timidity, but of boldness and sound mind.
“You need to be focused, for you to have the crown you must pass through the cross.”
The clergyman thanked the staff of the commission for their hard work and sense of duty at the ongoing 2021 Main/Easter 2022 pilgrimage exercise in Israel and Jordan. “I must appreciate you all for putting in your best and staying put in your place of duty,” Pam remarked.
He enjoined them to be a shining light of the commission, while supervising the pilgrims in the Holy Land.
Rev. Pam also tasked staff to be disciplined and put the image of the commission in the right perspective. He equally enjoined directors and management staff of the commission to encourage discipline amongst staff under them in order to create a conducive work environment.
