The executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has said that the commission is finally set for the 2021 general pilgrimage exercise.

He made this disclosure at the weekend in Amman, Jordan when he and his delegation inspected the Hotels in the ancient and historic country.

Rev. Pam and his team were pleased with some of the hotels they inspected in Jordan, while others were declared “dead on arrival,” as the facilities did not meet up with the standard and requirement of the delegation.

According to the NCPC leader, ”the wellbeing of my pilgrims is most paramount to me.”

The delegation further proceeded on the “State of Readiness” visit to Bethany, which is beyond the Jordan; where they saw the traditional baptismal site of “our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Another site visited was Mount Nebo, where the delegation marveled at the view where Moses looked across to the promised land and where he was later buried.

Prayers were said by the NCPC board chairman, Rev. Yomi Kasali, on the Mount, while the NCPC boss also conducted an inspection of the aircraft at the Queen Alia Airport.

With him at the inspection were representatives of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA), who made a physical inspection of the aircraft, affirmed that the aircraft used by the commission are operational aircraft.

The NCAA already has a longtime relationship with the Jordanian aviation authorities and, as such, no problem is being envisaged. They assured that the technical inspection of the aircraft would be conducted three weeks before the commencement of the pilgrimage exercise.

Also at the aircraft inspection was the NCPC board chairman, Rev. Yomi Kasali and the NCPC head of operations, Mr. Abu Okpanachi.

With the State of Readiness Visit coming to an end, NCPC and state pilgrimage managers are to go back and start preparations in earnest for the forthcoming pilgrimage exercise to ensure a successful and hitch-free religious outing.
