A new book with unique and distinctive focus on African literature has been released by Prof. Terhemba Shija of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
The well respected scholar disclosed this today through a post on his confirmed personal Facebook page. His new book is titled “Modern Literary Theory and the African Fiction.”
In the post announcing the release of his latest contribution to the world of scholarship, the university don said “today, I presented an autographed copy of my new book, Modern Literary Theory and the African Fiction, to the vice chancellor of my university, Prof. Suleiman Bala Muhammed, at his office.”
I his own words, “nothing can be more fulfilling than having your work published.”
He also expressed gratitude to the vice chancellor of his university, saying “thanks my VC for your support.”
Prof. Shija is a popular Nigerian academic, poet, novelist, critic and politician, who hails from Benue State and who served as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives in 1992.
He also served as commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs in Benue State during the administration of Governor George Akume, eventually resigning in December 2002.
Several of his books are in the genres of fiction, biography, literary criticism and poetry, while his best known titles are “Whispers of Distant Drums,” “The Siege, The Saga,” and “Cantos for the Benue.”
