Pastor Adewale Giwa is the Senior Pastor of Awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry. He is a man of revered calling and like the Biblical Prophets of old, a voice of conscience calling for change and for social justice. It is not surprising that he is expressing concerns over the 2023 elections scheduled for February.
The pastor has cried out that politicians have started moving to induce Christian ahead of the elections with the intent to buy votes to compensate for the rejection they except to receive from Christians in the country.
The Pastor gave this indication on Tuesday in Akure the Ondo state capital while speaking on the 2023 general elections. He said this action is targeted to buying Christian denominations to accept the unpopular Muslim Muslim ticket.
He warned that the strategy would not work as Nigerians already have their minds made up to vote against Muslim Muslim Presidential ticket in 2023.
“I’ve been reliably informed that some politicians are trying to induce the PFN, CAN and other Christian groups. The are trying to change their minds towards the Muslim-Muslim ticket. Let me tell them that nobody can change the minds of Nigerians because they have made up their minds not to vote for the All Progressives Congress in the coming 2023 presidential election.”
The pastor who appears so convinced advised the leadership of CAN and PFN to resist any form of inducement, stating that in a situation where they allowed themselves to be bought, it would still be impossible to change the minds of Nigerians who were tired of the old guard.
Earlier, in what they said was persistent marginalization of northern Christians, the All Progressives Congress (APC) northern Christian leaders called on Christians to vote against the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party in the 2023 elections.
The Christian leaders said while they did not start religious politics, the APC and its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, did, and therefore called on Christians to take note and act accordingly.
