The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has advised the Nigerian public to shun the act of panic buying at fuel stations, as the company has stocked up enough reserves of premium motor spirit (PMS), which is commonly known as petrol in the country.
This advise was issued Wednesday in a statement signed by Garba Deen Muhammad, who is the
group general manager,
group public affairs division of
NNPC Limited.
“NNPC wishes to assure the public that the company has sufficient PMS stock to meet the needs of Nigerians,” the statement read in part.
The public is therefore, advised not to engage in panic buying of petrol; and to ignore all rumours that may suggest otherwise,” it further read.
Also, in line with the existing laws of the land, NNPC said it “is deeply committed to ensuring energy security for the country.”
